Questions people ask

What is the distance from Adelaide to Sydney?

1,374 km by road on the highway route, by the Sturt Highway and the Hume Motorway, about 16.5 hours of driving with no stops. See Adelaide to Sydney removalists.

How long does an interstate move from Adelaide take?

It depends on the route, whether the load travels by road or rail, and its size. A truck is slower than a car and its driver must take rest breaks under the national fatigue rules. Moveall gives the delivery window for your move with the quote.

How far in advance should I book interstate removalists in Adelaide?

As soon as you have a date or a month. Six to eight weeks gives time for the quote, the packing plan and your own travel.

How does Moveall quote an interstate move?

Moveall’s customer care team asks about your bedrooms and living areas, the access at both homes and any heavy or bulky items, then emails a quote made for your move. An in-home quote is free.

How much does it cost to move interstate from Adelaide?

Every move is quoted for the home: the rooms and their contents, the access at both ends, heavy or bulky items, packing, the route, and road or rail. Moveall’s terms say a fixed-price quote relies on the inventory list, and items added on the day cost extra.

When do I pay?

For an interstate move, Moveall’s own guide says full payment is made on the day of the move. Your quote gives the details.

Will my furniture go by road or rail?

Moveall names both road and rail freight for interstate moves. Your quote sets out which suits your move.

Do you supply boxes and packing materials?

Yes, with Moveall’s Wrap & Pack service, which supplies the boxes and packing materials and packs your approved household items, including clothes, books, heavy items, fragile items, TVs and artwork.

Do I need to empty drawers and wardrobes before the removalists arrive?

Yes. Moveall’s terms ask that furniture is emptied of loose items and that loose items are packed in cartons. Otherwise they may not be moved, or may cost extra.

Can you move a piano or pool table interstate?

Yes, as part of a whole-home move. Moveall’s Supercharge option adds team members and specialty equipment for heavy and bulky items such as a piano or a pool table.

Are my belongings insured during the move?

Moveall holds $20 million public liability cover, which covers damage to people and property around the job. It is not insurance for your belongings in transit, so ask us about transit insurance for your belongings when you book. See transit insurance for an interstate move.

What are red flags with an interstate removalist?

A quote given without asking what is in the home or about the access at both ends; no clear answer on road or rail, the delivery window, insurance or when to pay; and nothing in writing. Ask every question before you book.

Can I take fruit, vegetables or plants with me?

Into Western Australia, produce must be free of soil, pests and disease, and some plants are not allowed. Leave fresh produce and pot plants out of the truck.

What do I need to declare when moving to Western Australia?

WA’s agriculture department asks people moving to WA to complete the Declaration for movement of personal goods into WA with their removals company, who should lodge it on their behalf. Honey is not allowed unless a Health Certificate covers it. See Adelaide to Perth removalists.

How can I transport my car from Adelaide to Perth?
