Adelaide to Darwin is the longest road move on this site: 3,022 km, most of it on the Stuart Highway, which runs north through the centre of the country. It is about 32.5 hours of driving with no stops, and long stretches have few towns. For a household move that means a few things:

Tasmania cannot be reached by road alone, so a move to Hobart or anywhere else in Tasmania is planned around the crossing as well as the road. Long runs within South Australia
